Cleaning Report Photos: What Should You Document?
An image becomes useful when it clarifies the location, observation and next decision.
Start with context
A close-up may show a mark without locating it. Associate it with a named area and a short caption. Where needed, an overview and a detail view provide complementary information.
Describe without assuming a cause
A caption distinguishes what is visible from what still needs review. State the finding and observation limits instead of diagnosing a material or equipment from an image alone.
Respect people and places
Frame the relevant surfaces. Avoid faces, documents, personal numbers and access codes. Site instructions determine which images may be taken and who may receive them.
Connect the image to an action
An image may document a treated area, access limitation or item to review. The report identifies the expected decision and who follows up. Adding photos without this information does not improve the report.
